We were asked to perform a complete front garden transformation in Wimbledon, presenting us with significant challenges when we first arrived. The entire area was covered in persistent weeds that had taken hold over several seasons, creating an unsightly entrance to this beautiful property.
Scattered rubble and debris made the space both unattractive and impractical for everyday use. The neglected state required complete renovation rather than simple maintenance work.
Heavy-Duty Clearance Work
Our team brought in professional excavation equipment to tackle this demanding project effectively. The digger proved essential for ripping through compacted rubble, removing stubborn tree stumps, and eliminating deep-rooted weeds that hand tools couldn’t handle. Ground Preparation and Treatment
With the clearance complete, we focused on creating a stable, level base for the new surface. The exposed soil was carefully graded and leveled to ensure proper drainage and a professional finish.
We then applied pet-friendly weed killer throughout the area, prioritizing the safety of family pets while preventing future weed growth.
This environmentally conscious approach maintained effectiveness without compromising household safety.
Professional Installation Process
High-quality weed membrane was laid across the entire prepared surface, creating a barrier against future vegetation while allowing water drainage.
This crucial step ensures long-term maintenance remains minimal for the homeowners. Six tons of 20mm shingle were then spread evenly across the membrane, creating an attractive, low-maintenance surface that complements Wimbledon’s leafy character.
